Safe travels...

Well, the week is over and it did fly by. Jason and I had such an enjoyable visit with Dad...we do thank him for coming and spending the week. Hopefully Mom and Dad will be able to come out for Thanksgiving again!

Jason and I dropped Dad off at Mr. Kocher's on Monday so he could go golfing. Jason and I went to the White Tanks hiking--we went 9 miles on a beautiful day. The above picture is taken by Mr. Kocher's and the following are us out hiking. Dad golfs, we hike :)

We had to climb up this wall...

There is an abandoned damn along the trail...doesn't look like it would hold much water!

Beautiful views from the trail...

I went and picked Dad up after he was done golfing on Tuesday. The plan was to order Pizza for dinner, relax and Dad was going to pack up. Now...my father is very allergic to cats...I make sure he takes allergy medication every day he is here. That does not stop my Dad from searching out all the cats in the house. We keep his bedroom door shut all the time so the cats can't get in his room...and the cats HATE doors that are shut. This is what we found as Dad was packing up. He walked down the hall so the door was opened for only a few seconds...

Finally...I decided to make some cookies for Dad and the family. In case you can't read the first too...the top one says Ella and the bottom one says Sam. Do you know how hard it is to put the sprinkles on? If you don't...you can see how hard it is!

All right...gonna get the car ready and have breakfast. Dad's flight leaves at 10am.

Just so you know...as of right now, every household has spent $18,584 on the bailout spending...think of what we could have all done with that! And the spending is not over.

Tami is wondering...

why Dad packed so many darn clothes...he didn't wear half of them.

Breakfast! Bob got to experience Victor's groping first hand. Of course, Bob was encouraging him and not pushing him away. I made omelet's for breakfast...and Dad got packed up. We are dropping Dad off at Jim Kocher's today and he is going golfing with Jim and Deke Dullere today and tomorrow. I will pick him up tomorrow night so that he can come back here to pack up. He heads out on Wednesday!

The weather is suppose to be in the 70's today...should be a beautiful day for golfing. Jason and I are going hiking in the White Tank Mountains since we are going to be on that side of town!

Have a great Monday!

----

We went to the Brewers game at the Surprise Stadium. It was a beautiful stadium and Dad met a new friend! We wanted cheap seats...and this was our view. That's what happens when you let other people buy the tickets! Oh well...Dad and I made it about 2 innings before we moved to the sun.

We figured it was going to be a very long game...and hopefully not a sign of the upcoming season. The star pictcher was starting the game...and did not even make it one inning. Pretty sad...he was just working the kinks out.

Here are the men at the game...

On the way home, Dad turned the GPS on and realized that Oscar Jaegee...I have no idea how to spell his name. Dad had a nice visit...we came home and vegged out all night. Not a very exciting day!

Bob's new hobby...

Before Bob goes to bed...when Bob gets up...when Bob is waiting for us to get ready...when Bob has 2 free seconds...

The men of my life...

We tried to sleep in on Saturday which meant that we were up at 7:30am. We had a big breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage. The plan for the day was to go to the Cubs-Brewer game at Maryvale stadium.

Dad and I wanted to sit in the sun...everyone else wanted the shade. Dad and I made it until the 2nd inning when we moved. This was where we originally were sitting...and the view from our seats.

Dad and I moved to the lawn where we were in the sun and had a great view of the field.

Dad saw someone with shaved ice and had to have some...he decided on cherry and would have a red mouth the rest of the day!

We came home and people over where they were either playing poker or Rock Band or Pinball. We can't remember the last time the pinball machines had this much action! Jason & I were out of the poker game pretty early. Dad made it to heads up action but did not win the first poker game...the second is about to start...

Dad and Jason rockin' out...

Yo, Yo...singing the rap song...

I don't know for sure what we are up to tomorrow...hitting the Brewers vs the Kansas City Royals in Surprise. I wore Dad out for hiking so we might just take a walk around the neighborhood. We will take Dad over to Kocher's on Monday so he can golf. Jason and I are planning on hiking at the White Tanks and then doing our taxes :(

See ya tomorrow!

Dad and started the morning with coffee, breakfast and the newspaper on the patio. We decided that we were going to start up the Cholla Trail on Camelback Mountain to a beautiful lookout. Here are some pictures of Dad on the trail. Of course, he had to do the Holly smile for one shot.

Here is a HUGE lizard we found on the trail. I mean this was completely HUGE...it was so big, we had to wait for it to leave the trail before we could proceed...it had to be at least 3-4 inches long!!

The trail overlooks The Phoenician Golf Course and Resort. It is an absolutely beautiful course. Here are some pictures of the course...and the tennis courts...and the swimming pools!

There is also a mansion that is being built...it is absolutely huge...and I am serious about this one. It has to have servant's quarters...and in-laws quarters...
This is the house...

and this is a comparison...the red is the mansion...the yellow is the other huge houses in the neighborhood!

Hope I don't get in trouble! I think they mean close up shots, etc...I was just taking pictures of the scenery...and then I cropped!

I dropped off Dad at Orange Tree so that he could play another round of golf. Jason, Dad and I are heading to Oregano's for dinner tonight. Tomorrow we are heading to Maryvale for a spring training baseball game...Cub's at the Brewers! Not sure of our plans for Sunday...possibly the Beer Festival going on at Tempe Town Lake. Monday he is going over to play golf with Jim Kocher and Deke Dullere...

This is what I came home too...aren't they cute!
